Under market economy condition, one of the major competitions is price. Strengthening cost management and lowering cost has become an important measure to help enterprise with boosting benefit and toning up market competition as well as the demand of deepening reform of enterprise, changing business system and establishment of modern enterprise system.Based on long-term plan economy system, the traditional cost management method adopted in coal-fired power generation engineering construction enterprise is more and more impracticable: limited scope of cost management; cost management method is out of date; weak cost management consciousness. On these issues, in this article, analyzes causes and then put forward measures of improving construction project cost management, which shall be applied in engineering management. It shall theoretically and realistically take the important meaning on cost management of construction project and improving construction enterprise competition.Regarding the issues above, in this article, the following views shall be set forth:Chapter Ⅰ: Gives brief introduction of background of the thesis; exterior condition of electric power engineering construction industry and the developing actuality of construction enterprise and construction project in the field. Analyzes the actuality and the cause of cost management employed in construction enterprise and then presents the main meaning and idea of this article.Chapter Ⅱ: tells how to establish the organization and flow of cost management in construction project; namely cost management organization, responsibility of construction project cost management and flow of construction project cost management.Chapter Ⅲ: discusses the upgrading of project cost management in respect of consciousness, knowledge, tool and measures.Chapter Ⅳ: introduces cost management principle, method, material cost, cost of construction period and quality cost control.Chapter Ⅴ: Sets forth, with a case of construction project, the practical application of cost management organization and flow and cost management upgrading and control.
