.3 S Technology In Logistics Enterprises

As accelerating development of economy in China, the transportation and supply of logistic enterprises play an increasingly important fundamental role in national economy. However, logistics is in an elementary stage in China. So it is urgent for logistic industry to improve technology, build efficient system and decrease cost. In conference of the 1st China Modern Application Research on Logistic GPS and GIS, representatives from Chinese Academy of Sciences, The Ministry of Science and Technology and the relevant business argued that there would be a huge impact on logistic industry, as well as industry of communication,insurance and bank and so forth, since entered in WTO. The modern logistics, which is depended on transportation and information and involved in manufacturing , circulating and consuming , is a fully Supply Chain Management System (SCM). It is a trend for modern logistics to informatizationalize,network, socialize. The technology linked to GPS, GIS and MIS has a wide application future in area of modern logistics and SCM, and has a passive effect on improving resources organization and enhancing ability of competition.This paper describes the background of the research and purpose, content and goal of the research, some innovative points in chapter 1. In chapter 2, the paper introduces the origin of logistics and current development situation of the relevant enterprises. There is a general description of logistics, modern logistics, SCM, 3S (GPS, GIS, MIS) .The analysis of application of GPS,GIS, MIS in logistic enterprises is given in chapter 3. In chapter 4, the author described the application of 3S in a logistic enterprise based on the logistic enterprise's informatization, the research on the integration theory of GIS/MIS is discussed and a frame of 3S technological platform is put forward. Finally in chapter 5, the author gave the conclusion as well as an outlook, which is about the application of 3S in logistic enterprises, and argued that it is a necessary trend in the logistic enterprises.
