Along with the development of modem society and the rhythm of people's living is speeding up,saving time, improving efficiency has become a very common pursuit,location information thus becomes one of the most thirst for people;On the other hand rapid development of the space positioning technology and the mobile communication technology also made the quick transfer of geographical position possible. under the dual driving of the market demand and the technological development,LBS then developed.LBS,Namely "Location-Based Service", is throughing the cooperation of mobile terminal and wireless network,identify the actual geographic location of mobile users,thus provide the service information associated with position that the users needed.LBS has the very bright prospects of commercial applications, many countries and companies will it as promoting economic development next growth,meanwhile location services has become a hot spot of research in academic circles.This topic taking the design and development of information service platform for jinan as the research target, the purpose of the research is to explore the development mode of information service platform for citys,to provide users a variety of functions like transportation, service navigation,weather forecasting, shopping navigation within the city.First of all,this paper expounded the background,the research progress in recent years at home and abroad of LBS,studied particularly for the Technology Related for LBS,and discussed its application services.Secondly,this paper studied the key technology that applicated to the system,introduced the related concepts of Components GIS,and introduced the function characteristics and the evelopment mode based on ArcGIS Engine component detailedly.In addition,worked out a detailed system design scheme, designed the general framework of the design and development of information service platform for jinan, and discussed the development and implementation process of each functional mode of the system at length.Finally,maked a summary for the working of the paper an the deficiency,on this basis prospected the future work.
