Vulnerability Assessment Of Natural Disasters In Coastal Cities Of Liaoning Province

In recent years,with global warming and the sea levels rising,All kinds of sudden disaster events happened frequently in coastal cities.Also,because of large population and economic density in coastal cities,natural disaster can bring great damage.So,risk assessment of natural disaster has attracted more and more research interests.After prevailing the theory of the hazard-formative factors,disaster risk research has beenning thought much.As one of the vital tools,vulnerability research is considered much more important than ever before.It is more important to the cities'security and sustainable development to vulnerability research of the coastal cities.The paper first introduces the comprehension about vulnerability and the conception of the vulnerability of different academicians or organizations,and the paper reviews the research progress of vulnerability research of natural disaster(local or overseas).Second,the paper defines the theories of vulnerability assessment,then establish the vulnerability assessment index system.Third,the paper takes the six coastal cities of Liaoning province as research object to evaluate the vulnerability of natural disaster.In order to improve the capability of coastal cities to resisting disaster,the paper carries out research on vulnerability assessment by establishing assessment index system and mathematic model.The paper takes the six coastal cities of Liaoning province as research object, it choose indexes to build index system from natural conditions,economy,population and the environment facilities.Applied fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to evaluate the vulnerability of natural disaster.The result shows:During the six coastal cities of Liaoning province,Hu Ludao,Jinzhou and Dandong own the highest level of vulnerability;Yinkou,the level of vulnerability is moderate;Panjin and Dalian,the level of vulnerability is the lowest.Validated the index system of rational and scientific,then the paper summarizes the vulnerability characters of the coastal city and puts forward some suggestions.At the last,summarized the research work of the paper,and proposed some questions are lucubrated in the future.
