With global warming, sea level rise and the accelerated process of urbanization, Natural disaster is the hotspot question in international society and academe. Coastal cities are important areas and strategic focus of people convergency, national economy and society development. However natural disasters happen easily and frequently in these areas, face the threat of sea-level rise and natural disasters. Coastal cities are the most economically dynamic and concentrated population region. Affected by physical-geographical conditions and human activities, coastal cities is one of the areas where the loss from natural disasters is very fierce and fatal in the coastal areas in China. This dissertation will provide theoretical foundation and scientific basis tools for natural disaster risk management model.From the sea-level rise and related natural disasters, analyzing the coastal cities are facing the threat of vulnerability at home and abroad in the reviewed studies based on the theories and methods, to define the context of sea level rise, coastal cities and the concept of vulnerability factors , initially built a theoretical model of vulnerability assessment, vulnerability analysis established the index system, and 50 coastal cities in the context of sea-level rise vulnerability analysis; Finally, respectively, from the natural and social - economic evaluation of both the coastal the vulnerability of cities to form a level of vulnerability of coastal cities, map, and made in different areas of vulnerability exploitation recommendations. Results for the coastal cities to provide a theoretical basis for disaster prevention and mitigation.The reach results the following conclusions:(1) The vulnerability of natural systems results show that: the Hangzhou Bay is bounded between the vulnerability of coastal cities, obviously, the north coast of Hangzhou Bay, south of the vulnerability of the city than high; highly vulnerable mainly distributed in the Liao he Delta, the Bohai Bay, Yellow River Delta, northern Jiangsu, Lianyungang, Yancheng coast, the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta area; high vulnerability areas are mainly distributed in Liaodong Peninsula, Laizhou Bay, Shandong Peninsula, North Jiangsu Plain, southern bank of Hangzhou Bay , the south bank of the Pearl River Estuary region; low vulnerability area is mainly in parts of Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangxi coast; extremely vulnerable mainly distributed in Guangxi Province and the Pearl River estuary Qin zhou areas to the north. 60.0% of Chinas coastal cities are at high risk, under the threat of high vulnerability, and low and low vulnerability area accounts for only a small part, about 22.0%.(2) The coastal city of society-economic vulnerability of the spatial distribution shows an obvious difference, which is the socio-economic development of coastal cities, the imbalance and the direction of government policy has a great relevance; highly vulnerable areas mainly Beihai in Guangxi Province, and Yen Chow; high vulnerability areas are mainly located in Bohai Bay, coastal Jiangsu, Zhejiang, south, southern Fujian and Guangdong and Guangxi in southern and northern coastal city; medium vulnerability is mainly distributed in the Shandong Peninsula, most of Zhejiang City, Fujian and the Pearl River estuary on both sides of the central city; low vulnerability area is mainly in the Liaodong Peninsula, Laizhou Bay, Yangtze River Delta and the northern city of Fujian Province, and some cities in the south bank of the Pearl River estuary; extremely vulnerable mainly distributed in Guangdong province, Shenzhen and Dongguan.(3) The vulnerability of the coastal city comprehensive analysis shows that: the vulnerability of coastal cities, significantly different spatial distribution of habit and most comprehensive out of the city are in the mid to upper brittle level; high vulnerability areas are mainly distributed in the Bohai Bay, the Soviet Union North coast and the coastal cities of Guangxi, high vulnerability areas are mainly located in Bohai Bay, Laizhou Bay, Yangtze River Delta coastal, southern Fujian and Guangdong in the southern coastal city; medium vulnerability is mainly distributed in the Shandong Peninsula, Zhejiang, Fujian, most of the city and Cities on both sides of the Pearl River estuary; low vulnerability area is mainly in the Liaodong Peninsula, and in some cities along the Pearl River estuary; extremely fragile area distribution of small, mainly in Shenzhen and Dongguan.
