Due to the producing process of refining is often involved in highly corrosive materials, temperature, pressure and speed the corrosion of refinery equipment is very serious. The corrosion shortened the expected service life of the refinery equipment and is very harmful to running safely of the refinery plant. The leaking or broken of the equipment in refinery often occur because of the corrosion, it even harmful to the normal operation sometimes. So how to avoid and mitigate corrosion to the greatest extent is an eternal issue.This article aims to analyze the corrosion mechanism of the typical metal equipment, such as heat exchanger, storage tank and pipeline, to find the causing of corrosion, and so to put forward effective measures to avoid or mitigate the occurring of corrosion. At first, for the out wall corrosion problem of tube bundle of heat exchanger, presents to adopt anticorrosion painting and Ni-P chemical plating, and so on. That solved the corrosion problem. Then analyzing the corrosion mechanism of the storage tank such as the oil tank, acidic water tank, gas tank and cation exchanger, and it presents to adopt epoxy glass flake, epoxy resin or epoxy pitch paintings to solve the problem. At last, deeply analyzing the process pipeline, pipeline with stress corrosion and underground pipelines, it presents to adopt epoxy glass flake painting, shape memory alloy and forced current cathode protection technologies.This article aims to analyze the work condition and the relevant parameter of refinery equipment and detailed evaluate the corrosion condition and adopt economical and effective settlement to lengthen the lifetime of the refinery equipment by considering from different fields, such as practicability, safety, reliability and economy, etc.
