With the rapid development of human society, people's material and spiritual lives have been greatly enriched and improved. But some critical environmental problems are more and more prominent, especially the deterioration of urban environment closely related to human life. Now, with the urban industrial development and the impact of human activities, a large number of heavy metals get into urban soils, and cause heavy metal pollution in the city, and constitute a threat to human health. So more and more scholars study heavy metals of urban soils and assess environmental impact. Studies have shown that heavy metal content of urban soils vary greatly, unevenly distribute; Industrial areas and traffic areas are heavily polluted. For the city of Zhengzhou, scholars generally focused on the vegetable soils or suburb soils. Research on heavy metals of urban soils is less. What's more, it is urban soils studies and environmental impact assessment of heavy metals among the different functional areas of Zhengzhou City that still have not found reported in the literature. This topic purpose is to fill this void. In this work, the Zhengzhou city is into industrial areas, green areas, traffic areas and residential areas according to the soil using different functions. The specific researches are as follows:(1) The Pb, Cu, Cr, Zn, Mn contents of different functional soils are measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometer.(2) Study the heavy metal pollution compared with the background value and the other cities.(3) The different Functional areas of Zhengzhou are researched and assess by Single-factor pollution index method.(4) The different Functional areas of Zhengzhou are researched and assess by Nemerow comprehensive pollution index.(5) The different Functional areas of Zhengzhou are researched and assess by Accumulation Index of Geology.(6) At last, it is the above three methods that are compared, and then make conclusion.
