The paper based on the status of textile machinery roller parts'design and manufacture, use CAD/CAE integrated technology to research and explores the traditional method and improve it. According to the different structure of textile machinery roller parts, optimize CAD design and CAE analysis process, connect the CAD system with CAE system seamlessly, and reduce business costs, improve textile machinery roller parts'performance and design efficiency.CAD technology is experiencing from a wide range of theoretical research to commercial application stage now. The development of CAD technology is toward standardization, integration and intelligent. Finite element technique for solving continuum problems is the most popular form of numerical method. With the development of computer technology and finite element method theory, and promote the commercialization of the finite element analysis software. However, CAD and CAE has long been an independent development, the integration is not well. CAD and CAE engineering software focus differently. CAD model is to emphasize the details of expression, CAE model stresses that the expression of essential characteristics. To overcome the problem, integration of CAD and CAE, it is very necessary and inevitable.The study focuses on CAD/CAE integration about textile machinery roller parts. The textile machinery roller parts are one of non-standard items. According to the function, bear the load, the structural design will vary, but the basic structure of the roller parts are the same. According to many years of design and manufacture of textile machinery business experience, classify 20 kinds of commonly used parts into 6 categories, standardizing the manufacture and simplifying processing.In the CAD/CAE integration, core problem need to be addressed is the model transition. The most direct way is through the intermediate format such as step, iges and sat. This approach ignores differences in the requirements of the geometric model in CAD and CAE software. CAD model is reflected on the details of the expression. CAE model of the object reflects the thermal, mechanical, electromagnetic and other essential characteristics. In order to solve the issue, we have introduced the method of skeletal dimensional reduction, simplifying CAD model into skeleton.CAD/CAE integration system is in Visual Studio 2005 platform, using VB.NET for development, building parametric roller parts library. Integrated platform can get the information of the model and user can drive the model at random. According to the roller parts of the main parameters and characteristics, generate the skeletal finite element model.CAD/CAE Integration system provide professional tools and means to design roller parts for designer. The CAD/CAE integrated system is tested by the typical structure of roller parts, establishing a correct and reasonable finite element model, easy to use, greatly improving the efficiency.
