From three aromatic ether monomers containing amide groups, N,N′-bis- (4-phenoxybenzoyl)-4,4′-diaminodiphenyl ether (BPBDAE), N,N′-bis(4-phenoxy- benzoyl)-4,4′-diaminodiphenyl sulfone (BPBDAS) and N,N′-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl) -m-phenylenediamine (DPBMPD), we synthesized four new types of poly(aryl ether ketone)s containing amide groups in main chain by electrophilic polycondensation.1. A series of poly(aryl ether ketone amide)/poly(aryl ether ketone diphenyl ketone ether ketone ketone) (PEKA/PEKDKEKK) copolymers were prepared from BPBDAE and 4,4′-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl)biphenyl (DPOBBP) with isophthaloyl chloride (IPC) by electrophilic polycondensation. The structures and properties of the copolymers were investigated by FT-IR, TG, DSC, XRD etc. The results showed that the glass transition temperatures of the copolymers increased with the increase in BPBDAE content. The copolymers with 60-80 mol% DPOBBP had not only high Tgs of 182-188℃, but also a moderate Tms of 330-341℃, which are extremely suitable for melt processing.2. A series of poly(aryl ether ketone sulfone amide)/poly(aryl ether ketone diphenyl ketone ether ketone ketone) (PEKSA/PEKDKEKK) copolymers were prepared from BPBDAS and 4,4′-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl)biphenyl (DPOBBP) with isophthaloyl chloride (IPC) by electrophilic polycondensation. The structures and properties of the copolymers were investigated by FT-IR, TG, DSC, XRD etc. The results showed that the glass transition temperatures of the copolymers increased with the increase in BPBDAS content. The copolymers with 80-90 mol% DPOBBP had not only high Tgs of 182-188℃, but also a moderate Tms of 340-341℃, and had good potential for melt processing.3. A series of poly(aryl ether ketone amide)/poly(aryl ether ketone ether ketone ketone) (PEKA/PEKEKK) copolymers were prepared from DPBMPD and 4,4′-diphenoxy- benzophenone (DPOBPN) with terephthaloyl chloride (TPC) by electrophilic poly- condensation. The structures and properties of the copolymers were investigated by FT-IR, TG, DSC, XRD etc. The results showed that the glass transition temperatures of the copolymers increased with the increase in DPBMPD content. The copolymers with 70-80 mol% DPOBPN had not only high Tgs of 183-184℃, but also a moderate Tms of 324-332℃, which are very suitable for melt processing.4. A series of poly(aryl ether ketone amide)/poly((aryl ether diphenyl ether ketone ketone) (PEKA/PEDEKK) copolymers were prepared from DPBMPD and 4,4′- diphenoxybiphenyl (DPOBP) with terephthaloyl chloride (TPC) by electrophilic polycondensation. The structures and properties of the copolymers were investigated by FT-IR, TG, DSC, XRD etc. The results showed that the copolymers are non-crystalline and had high glass transition temperatures and good thermo- stabilities.
