From four aromatic ether monomers, N,N′-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl)–p-phenylenedia-mine (DPBPPD),2,6-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl)naphthalene (DPOBON),4,4′-di(1-naph-thoxy)benzophenone (DNOBPN),4,4′-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl)biphenyl (DPOBBP),and isophthaloyl chloride (IPC) or terephthaloyl chloride (TPC). we synthesized threenew types of novel poly(aryl ether ketone)s containing biphenyl and naphthalenemoieties by electrophilic polycondensation.1. A series of poly(ether ketone amide)/poly(ether ketone ketone) containing2,6-naphthalene moieties (PEKA/PEKNKEKK) copolymers were prepared from N,N′-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl)–p-phenylenediamine(DPBPPD) and2,6-di(4-phenoxy benzoyl)naphthalene(DPOBON) with isophthaloyl chloride (IPC) by electrophilic polyconden-sation. The structures and properties of the copolymers were investigated by FT-IR,DSC, TG, XRD etc. The results showed that all the copolymers are semicrystall-ine.The glass transition temperatures of the copolymers increased with the increase inDPBPPD content. The copolymers with30mol%DPBPPD had not only high Tg of180℃,but also a moderate Tm of321℃, which are extremely suitable for meltprocessing.2. A series of novel poly(aryl ether ketone)s containing alene moieties wereprepared from4,4′-di(1-naphthoxy)benzophenone (DNOBPN) and2,6-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl)naphthalene (DPOBON) with terephthaloyl chloride (TPC) by electrophilicpolycondensation. The structures and properties of the copolymers were investigatedby FT-IR, DSC, TG, XRD etc. The results showed that the glass transitiontemperatures of the copolymers increased with the increase in DNOBPN content. Thecopolymers with10-30mol%DNOBPN are semicrystalline. The copolymers with30mol%DNOBPN had not only high Tg of194℃,but also a moderate Tm of329℃,which are suitable for melt processing.3. A series of novel poly(aryl ether ketone)s containing borh biphenyl andnaphthalene moieties copolymers were prepared from4,4′-di(1-naphthoxy)benzo-phenone (DNOBPN) and4,4′-di(4-phenoxybenzoyl)biphenyl (DPOBBP) withisophthaloyl chloride (IPC) by electrophilic polycondensation. The structures and properties of the copolymers were investigated by FT-IR, TG, DSC, XRD etc. Theresults showed that the glass transition temperatures of the copolymers increased withthe increase in DNOBPN content. The copolymers with10-30mol%DNOBPN aresemicrystalline. The copolymers with30mol%DNOBPN had not only high Tg of187℃, but also a moderate Tms of335℃,which are suitable for melt processing.
