Resonance light scattering (RLS) is a new technology developed in 1990s for trace analysis. Comparing with other methods, the RLS method has higher sensitivity, better selectivity and more simplicity. With the development of the RLS technique, it has been widely used in the research and determination of proteins, nucleic acids, cells, medication, surfactants medication, inorganic particles and non-particle. To further study and develop new RLS systems and methods has already become one of the important study subjects. This thesis consists of five parts, the main contents are as follows:The first part introduces the theory, principle, quantitative basis of RLS and the common analytical methods of chrysin, osthole, paeonolum and riboflavin. The second part used RLS to detemination chrysin in Senmen Oroxyli, based on the enhanced effect with SDS-chrysin-Al3+ system, new method of determining chrysin was found. Under the optimum reaction conditions, the RLS intensity at 565 nm was proportational to the concentration of chrysin, and the linear range of 0.05~2.8μg/mLμg/mL with the detection limit of 2×10-4μg/mL. The recoveries is between 92.1~101.3%. It has been applied on the determination of chrysin in Oroxylum indicum with satisfactory results. The third part used RLS to detemination osthole in Common Cnidium Fruit, based on the enhanced effect withβ-CD-osthole-AR system, new method of determining osthole was found. Under the optimum reaction conditions, the RLS intensity at 365 nm was proportational to the concentration of osthole, and the linear range is 0. 5~12.0μg/mL, detection limit is 7.3×10-3μg/mL, the recoveries is between 95.6~105.1%. It has been applied on the determination of osthole in Common Cnidium Fruit with satisfactory results. The fourth part used RLS to detemination paeonolum in Pharyngitis Tablets. In the presence of HAc-NaAc (pH = 4.5),the binding of paeonolum,Co(Ⅱ) and alizarin was principally performed by means of the hydrophbic force. This results in significant enhancement of RLS intensity, and the enhanced intensity of RLS at 554 nm is proportional to the concentration of paeonolum. The linear range is 0.08~1.4μg/mL with the detection limit of 3.6×10-2μg/mL.This method is simple, rapd and sensitive. It has been applied to the determination of paeonolum in Pharyngitis Tablets with satisfactory results. In the fifth part, a new method for determination of riboflavin in vitamin B2 tablets is developed. In the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate, and at pH 3.0 sodium citrate-hydrochloric acid's buffer solution, the interaction of riboflavin and 1-naphthol results in enhancement of resonance light scattering signals. The RLS signal reaches to the highest intensity at the wavelength of 540nm, and the intensity is proportional to the riboflavin concentration in the range of 0.2~3.0μg/mL with the detection limit of 2.38×10-2μg/mL. The proposed method is simple, rapid, sensitive and has been successfully applied for the detemination of riboflavin in pharmaceutical vitamin B2 tablets.
