Coal is our most important primary energy, the coal industry is the main basic industries of the national economy, which plays an important role in the development of national economy.Therefore, whether the development of coal industry is on the reasonable way or not will affect both the safety of energy and the sustainable development of economy in China. With the rapid development of modern science and technology, particularly the brisk energy demand of world economy, the coal mining technology in the word has been developed rapidly.The stores and transporting system as a terminal in the whole production system of the coal mine, which is the throat in the production system. It will responsible for the segregation and transport task of raw coal in the whole mine, and the performance quality of the control system has the pivotal function to the entire unit's production. If any link failure will cause huge losses, the stability and reliability of stores and transporting system has become a necessary issue to consider increasing production and efficiency. In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology and communication technology, this request has been gradually satisfied, so the redundant system can provide and complete this very high reliability requirements task.SIMATIC S7-400H is a redundant system especially designed for advanced application by Siemens. Its CPU,power,network equipment and operation station are all redundant. If the master system has a failure, it can automatically change to the reserve one without turbulence and realize the smooth Master-Reserve change. It makes the whole system can tolerate the single fault, and avoid the loss of shutdown by failure in traditional single machine mode, so greatly enhance the stability and reliability.This thesis elaborates the redundancy technique and PLC,hardware components,redundant structure and basic principle of SIMATIC S7-400H redundant system, and designs the electric control system of stores and transporting system. Combined with our own practice, completely introduced the system configuration and redundant performance testing of system. The redundant system architecture is flexible, stable, reliable and easy to program. As all of the characters the effect is obvious in reducing the parking time, and downsizing to improve efficiency.
