Recent years, human find a new chemical pollution named environmental endocrine disruptors which have the potential to impact adversely human reproductive health such as endocrine dyscrasia, it is the third environmental pollutants after the coal smoke pollution and the automobile exhaust gases. Therefore, it is necessary to find a rapid and sensitive detection method. This subject is about the detection of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, bisphenol A, bisphenol A diglycidyl ether and its derivatives in foodstuffs. At present, many developed countries have for these types of entironment endocrine disruptors provides the value of maximum residue limits(MRL), The MRL of these environmental endocrine disruptors are specified in European Union Commission Directive 2002/72/EC, 2005-1895-EC and 2008/39/EC: TPA 7.5 mg/kg,IPA 5 mg/kg,BPA 3 mg/kg,9 mg/kg for the sum of BADGE, BADGE·H2O, and BADGE·2H2O, and 1 mg/kg for the sum of BADGE·HCl, BADGE·2HCl and BADGE·H2O·HCl, respectively. So far there is no current standard determination of these environmental endocrine disruptors in foodstuffs is available in domestic. So the pollution of these environmental endocrine disruptors and relative determination research have not attract enough attention. Therefore, this issue focuses on the terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, bisphenol A, bisphenol A diglycidyl ether and its derivatives in the detection. The determination of TPA and IPA was extracted with Sodium bicarbonate solution (1g/L). Extracts were purified by liquid-liquid extraction and SPE cartridge (PLS column). Separation was carried on Platisil ODS column (250×4.6 mm, 5μm) coupled with UV detection at 242 nm. The linear range was over 0.05μg/mL~80μg/mL (r2>0.999). The detection limits (LODs) were: TPA 0.05μg/g, IPA 0.1μg/g. The assay was validated by analyzing samples spiked with three different levels(0.25μg/g, 0.5μg/g, 15.0μg/g for TPA and 0.5μg/g, 5μg/g, 15.0μg/g for IPA), the average recoveries and the relative standard deviations of TPA were in the range of 86.0~98.0 % and 3.7~6.3 %, the average recoveries and the relative standard deviations of TPA were in the range of 84.9~97.4 % and 3.6~6.5 %.The determination of BPA-type was extracted with acetonitrile. Extracts were also purified by liquid-liquid extraction and SPE cartridge (PLS column). Separation was carried on Zorbax SB-Phenyl column (250×4.6 mm, 5μm) coupled with FLD detection(Excitation wavelength: 227nm; emission wavelength: 313nm). The linear range was over 0.05μg/mL~20.00μg/mL (r2>0.9996). The detection limits (LODs) were: BPA 0.50μg/g,BADGE·HCl·H2O 0.10μg/g, The remaining five compounds were all 0.05μg/g. The assay was validated by analyzing samples spiked with three different levels(1μg/g, 10μg/g, 20μg/g), the average recoveries and the relative standard deviations of all seven compounds were in the range of 83.8%~100.9% and 2.0%~8.3%, this method required simple equipment relatively and supplied accurate results. The HPLC method was applicable to the determination of nine environmental endocrine disruptors in foodstuffs, the detection limits were lower than the European limits and meet the requirement of European MRL. Meanwhile, the trade standard of inspection and inspection Determination of Terephthalic acid and Isophthalic acid in foodstuffs was made using HPLC-UV method. The number of the project is 2007B280x.
