Because of the shortage of energy and aggravation of environmental pollution, energy conservation and emission reduction has become a hot topic of common concern in the whole world. The restrictive index in "China's 12th 5 year planning outline" are energy consumption of unit gross domestic product reduce 16% and carbon dioxide emission of unit gross domestic product reduce 17%. With the development of economy, China's particle board industry is growing rapidly, which is consuming a large number of energy and resources. Whether between domestic companies, or compared with the same scale of international production lines, there is a big gap on comprehensive energy consumption of unit product of particle board. Energy consumption accounts for about 30% of particle board's production costs. In view the energy utilization of domestic particle board companies, there is a great potential in reducing comprehensive energy consumption of unit product in particle board industry.Comprehensive energy consumption of unit product of particle board is a comprehensive of production process, technology and equipments and management level. Through literatures and enterprise survey in this paper, based on the energy consumption in different scale particle board companies in China. Paper analyzes the potential of energy conservation and emission reduction. This paper taking a typical particle board company as the research object in a certain statistics period. Through counted, analyzed and calculated the energy consumption of this company. We have obtained the data of comprehensive energy consumption of unit product of particle board in this company. Refer to the domestic and foreign standards on energy consumption of particle board, evaluate the utilization level and analyze the process of energy intensive. Paper proposes the corresponding energy saving programs and the reference energy saving programs of different scale particle board companies.In this paper the main conclusions are as follows:1. Consult relevant standards we can find that the comprehensive energy consumption of unit product of particle board is 166.69kgce/m3 in this company, which cannot reach the tertiary level. Therefore the potentiality of energy conserving in this company is great.2. This paper is carrying on some energy-conserving research of this company from optimize craft, improve apparatus, save heat energy, save electric energy and strengthening enterprise management etc. Reference to part of clean production, and we have obtained 9 free or low-cost clean production programs and 13 high-cost clean production programs for the company to reference implementation.3. Consult the analysis and research of the clean production programs in the typical particle board company. This paper has put forward 22 general clean production programs in particle board industry for refer to.The research of this paper can offer the theoretical foundation of comprehensive energy consumption of unit product of particle board for the existing particle board companies. In order to helping them to find the potentiality and programs of energy-conserving. It can also offer some theories of comprehensive energy consumption of unit product of particle board for newly-built particle board companies. Meanwhile it offers some reference data for some standards which are not issued and already in soliciting the suggestions.
