Since the"secondary recovery"the water flooding technology has been growing, but oil reservoir heterogeneity is more serious along with the erosion of water. Oil reservoir has appeared many large pores as a result that research on profile control agent for blocking the big pore path is tremendously significant. At present the type of profile control agent is various and they play an important role in the area of profile control techniques, but there are still some shortcomings and deficiencies.This paper for free radical copolymerization of acrylamide(AM) and Isobutane-Ethylhexyl(2-EHA) acrylate copolymerization prepared profile control agent for blocking the big pore path using initiator benzoyl peroxide (BPO), surfactant nonylphenol ethoxylates, and solvent system alcohol and ethyl acetate (1:1). Infrared spectroscopy, 13C NMR, X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis were applied for structure token; the result of TG, DTG and DTA analysis showed that the polymer had a good thermal stability. Copolymers were tested for tensile strength; at the conditions of different temperature, pH or salinity, the apparent viscosity of copolymer solution test shows that the copolymer has very good properties of thermal stability, alkali tolerance and salt resistance.Synthesized copolymers were cured for a series of processes and the granulation process was investigated preparing for the industrial production.
