With the development of the technology,micro-components are widely used in Micro-fluid control systems, medical equipments and some other fields. And ceramic material is an ideal material for micro-components owning to it's excellent corrosion resistance, chemical stability and high strength and hardness.Micro-grinding is a typical precision machining process,it has a large advantage than other machining methods , but the processing quality affect by processing environment, the performance of micro-grinding wheel and the materials of workpiece. In addition, although micro-grinding is similar to the traditional grinding process, due to size effect they also have many big differences. In the current, the research of micro-grinding is not deeply enough, especially in the modeling of micro grinding work. In this paper, the modeling of micro-grinding is carried out, based on the domestic and international research on micro-grinding.In this paper, micro-grinding force prediction model is build established, based on interaction between the single grit and the workpiece, then according to the dynamic grain density extend the grinding force of single grain to the entire wheel, at last the micro-grinding experiment is carried out and the normal and tangential grinding force of predictive model and experimental results are compared.Considering the randomness of the distribution and geometry of the gain in the grinding wheel, a surface roughness predictive model is established, and the influence of the feedrate, grinding depth and spindle speed on surface roughness. Then the predictive mode was verified by the micro-grinding experiment. Further studies the diamond electroplated grinding wheel micro-grinding of ceramics wear form, material mainly remove way. The influence of the wear and deformation of the micro-grinding wheel on surface roughness and micro-grinding forces are also studied in this paper.
