As for traditional serial machine tool is concerned, its mathematical model is simple and mechanism is relatively complex, but for parallel machine tool, its mechanism is relatively simple and mathematical model is very complex. In the parallel machine tool, achieving the accurate motion of the end actuator is based on complex mathematical calculations. The mechanical structure of the new type of virtual axis parallel machine tool is different from the traditional serial machine tool completely, It relies on multi-bar spatial parallel mechanism to drive the cutter but not a fixed rail to guide it. The parallel machine has many advantages, such as simple mechanical structure, light quality of moving platform, high degree of modularity, high flexibility, high value-added of technology and so on, so it is widely used in various fields. Therefore, carrying out the research of parallel CNC machine tool will have important theoretical significance and practical application value. Delta mechanism is a kind of parallel mechanism, which belongs to the low mobility spatial paralllel mechanisms. The moving platform can realize three-dimensional translational movement relative to the static platform. Based on the delta mechanism, this article studies a new type of 3-DOF parallel CNC experiment platform, and systematically researches the position analysis, singular configuration analysis, workspace analysis, kinematics simulation analysis, prototype development and the CNC system development and online adjustment etc, and made some achievements.1. This paper studies a kind of 3-DOF parallel CNC experiment platform based on delta mechanism. Through its positive and negative solutions for position analysis, establish the kinematics model of mechanical structure, and on the basis of positive solutions for position analysis, get the reachable workspace of mechanism, and provide the theoretical foundation for the design and manufacture of parallel experiment platform prototype. The parallel experiment platform has three servo motors for driving, and it can achieve the movement control of moving platform through the linkage control of three driving arms. Because the driving parts distribute on the static platform, so its motor performance is good.2. Considering the structural characteristics of parallel experiment platform, use UG to establish its three-dimensional model, use ADAMS to conduct the movement simulation, and analysis the speed, acceleration and displacement curves of graver reference point, verify the rationality of mechanism design, provide a theoretical basis for physical prototype structure improvement design.3. Considering the control requirements of parallel experiment platform, develop the CNC system of 3-DOF parallel experiment platform based on ADSP. The ADSP is the core processor of the system, and constructe the "PC + ADSP" CNC system hardware platform. The host PC using Visual C++ to develop the software platform, which can identify the G code and CorelDraw code; Lower computer ADSP using C language to develop the driver software, and achieve the linkage control of three motors; The host PC and lower computer can realize real-time communication through the serial port RS232.4. Based on the above-mentioned theory research, this paper develops the prototype of 3-DOF CNC experiment platform, accomplishes the correct processing track of the tool through on-line debugging and verifies the correctness of the organization analysis and the feasibility of the CNC system in this project.
