On-line detection is one of the important subjects in the field of automatic industrial control. The studying object of this paper is the technical reformation on drawing frames in the textile production process. Design and research on the on-line detection and monitoring device for cotton textile drawing frames, which breaks the market monopoly situation on advanced drawing frames by foreign enterprises, and solves the technical bottleneck on domestically-manufactured equipment, will bring far-reaching influences on industry development.The main tasks of the design are composed of these parts: data acquisition and the pretreatment, data calculation, the parameters of the inputs and the design of monitor interface. The whole process includes three stages: pc-based algorithm design, the hardware experiment based on CompactRIO rapid prototype platform, the accomplishment of hardware system based on FPGA. This can make the process of system development, algorithm design and improvement to be more pertinence, shorten the development period, and reduce the cost.The process of signal processing includes the calculation of sliver parameters and the spectrum drawing. The most important parts are the validation of calculation methods, and the design of filters in spectrogram generation. The use of many kinds of design tools, e.g. MATLAB, FDA Tool, saves time in preparing, greatly simplified the design process, speeding up the system development progress, and also facilitate the system developers. In order to get the exact sliver spectrum information, the system needs a large number of filtering operation, therefore it needs allocation planning to find out how to save system resources, and reduce delay on operation.The on-line detection monitoring system based on CompactRIO platform that designed in this paper represented satisfactory results after a series of experiments.
