With the development of advanced textile technology, people are increasingly demanding high quality yarn. Drawing is the key step of spinning. Autoleveller on drawing frame controls sliver’ weight deviation and uniformity which plays a decisive role to improve the quality of spinning. High-performance drawing frame uses autoleveller more and more widely. Autoleveller of domestic high-performance drawing frame still needs to be imported. Therefore, developing proprietary, high-performance and high-speed autoleveler drawing frame has become an important task in China’s textile machinery industry.This paper developed an embedded autoleveller control system based on STM32. It achieved to optimizing autoleveller control algorithm and integrating control, communication and human-machine together. It can control autoleveller of high-speed drawing frame. This paper mainly completed the following work:(1) Analyze autoleveler system principle and function, study roller drafting principle,drawing crafts and autoleveler principle, make mathematical model of autoleveller process and propose an embedded controller solution which bases on STM32 and a autoleveller algorithm.(2) Design and make hardware circuit of autoleveller system including minimum system,servo motor control module, fixed-length sampling module, sliver thickness detection module,power-down protection module, man-machine interface module, CAN communication module and so on.(3) It implemented the communication stably between ARM development board and industrial touch screen via the Modbus protocol including the functions of reading and writing data, forcing the coil state, reading and writing data in "D" zone. It also realized the Modbus simulation experiment using Modbus Poll and modbus data monitoring online using 485 to USB module which made debugging faster and easier.(4) It completed software system design based on ARM including data sampling,autoleveller algorithm, sampling length, motor speed, signal processing, PID algorithm, servo motor control and human-machine interaction(through Modbus communication), CAN communications. Finally, it implemented the function of autoleveller.(5) Debug and verify the entire hardware and software system. The experiments showed that the control system could implement the function of high-speed drawing frame autoleveller. Its advantages are flexible algorithm, high scalability, high reliability and adapting to a wide range.
