Conversion utilization of agricultural and forestry wasters is the priority theme of scienceand technology development planning of China. The paper selects peanut hulls which areresource-rich as research object. The peanut hulls form a series of phenolics intermediateproduct by phenol liquefaction. The resin which synthetized by formaldehyde and peanut hullsphenol liquefaction product was used for foam material production. On the one hand, it canpromote the utilization value of forest and agricultural biomass. On the other hand, it providesa kind of new low-cost raw materials for the production of the foam.The synthesis process of foaming peanuts hulls-phenol liquefaction product-formaldehyde resin, curing process at medium temperature of peanuts hulls-phenolliquefaction product-formaldehyde resin, foaming process of peanuts hulls-phenolliquefaction product-formaldehyde resin foam and foam properties have been systematicallyinvestigated. The results show that:(1)The molar ratio of formaldehyde/peanuts hulls phenol liquefaction, reactiontemperature, reaction time have a greater impact on the resin properties. The best synthesisprocess contains following technological conditions molar ratio of formaldehyde/peanuts hullsphenol liquefaction of1.3:1,reaction temperature of90℃,reaction time of60min, the resinhas moderate viscosity, good stability, high solid content. It is suitable for foaming.(2)Fourier infrared spectral shows that the Group structures of peanuts hulls phenolliquefaction product-formaldehyde resin are basically similar to PF resin. But the peanutshulls-phenol liquefaction product-formaldehyde resin has higher reactivity and better waterresistance. The resin has more unique advantages of preparing foam production.(3)The FTIR and SEM show that, γ-butyrolactone and propylene carbonate can be usedas peanuts hulls phenol liquefaction product-formaldehyde resin curing agent at mediumtemperature. The transesterification reaction of ester group and hydroxymethyl,the reactionbetween phenolic hydroxyl anion of resin and carbonyl of ester are all generating benzyl ester.The negative oxygen ions of phenolic hydroxyl as the attacking group of nucleophilicsubstitution reaction generates aralkyl ethers with the saturated carbon connecting with estergroup.(4)The curing agent, foaming agent, surfactant have a greater impact on the foamproperties. The best foaming process contains following technological conditions: curingagent of6~8%, foaming agent of10%, surfactant of8%.(5)The SEM shows that, toughening modification of MDI and PEG-400, fillingmodification of oil-tea camellia shell powder make the foam have better cell structure.
