The copolymer ofα-methyl styrene (AMS) and maleic anhydride (MAH) was synthesized by precipitation polymerization. The resulting AMS-MAH oligomer was saponified and then served as macroinitiator for the aqueous polymerization of acrylamide. Influences of pH, reaction temperature, reaction time were investigated.A new initiator (TX-TX) was synthesized by the reductive coupling of thioxanthone. The precipitation polymerization of acrylamide initiated by TX-TX was carried out. The oligomer of PAM which chain ends contains TX fragments was synthesized. The influences of the reaction time, initiator concentration, monomer concentration were studied. The structure of initiator and PAM were characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis,1H-NMR.A new initiator (ITX-ITX) was synthesized by the reductive coupling of isopropylthioxanthone. The precipitation polymerization of acrylamide initiated by ITX-ITX was carried out. The oligomer of PAM which chain ends contains ITX fragments was synthesized. The influences of initiator concentration, reaction time, reaction temperature monomer concentration were studied. The structure of ITX-ITX, macroinitiator and PAM were characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1H-NMR.The macroinitiator can initiated the aqueous polymerization of AM, the molecular weight increase with reaction time, and linearly increase with conversion. |
