As the world is gradually running short of petroleum, gas resources attracted more and more attention and our countries are developing natural gas projects energetically. For as much as natural gas belongs to explosive or dangerous goods-products, in its transit there exists a great risk. Pipeline transportation has considerable economic, convenient and safe meritin, promptness, so it has been widely used in gas transport industry. Our natural gas resources mainly rely on the western region and are imported from uzbekistan, but most of the users are concentrated in the eastern areas with developed economy. With the development of economy, gas consumption is increasing. Our country redoubled the efforts to build natural gas pipelines and completed more than ten pipeline projects successfully such as transport the natural gas from the West to the East, and the the main structure of gas pipe network has been shaped.Pipeine transportation has many advantages, but because of that pipeline is being buried, ageing of pipeline will be quick and deformate in this environment. Although we have adopted many methods to prevent corrosion, it only slow down the speed of the ageing and could not solve the problem radically. The gas pressure is very high, so whether aged pipe can ensure the safety received wide public concern. Once the accident of leakage take place, how to reduce the loss of the explosion is the principal aspect of studying safety of pipeline. If pipes leak, it is necessary to close the vavle in the shortest time to protect life and property security. Monitoring and control of tube rupture accident and leakage localization are the key of this research.Therefore, this article takes the industrial development board LP3500 as the main combined with natural gas pipeline application characteristics developed a set of in allusion to the pipeline monitoring control system. Combined with improved filter method leak positioning method is improved. When the pipeline leak, on the one hand the system can through the shutoff valve upstream and downstream to cut off gas flow, on the other hand system will send alarm signals to PC, making abnormal condition timely be found in alarm condition of valve.In this case center also can action commands. So as to make the pipeline safety and monitoring ability improved.Firstly, this paper analysises the function requirements of terminal and the center, determines overall design of the system suh as chosing the GPRS communication network and solar power supply method. Secondly, designs hardware circuit of monitoring terminal and makes a detailed introduction for blocking thought according to its function. Thirdly, introduces the software application of monitoring terminal and main program flow. Then, develop the monitoring software of the center based on LabVIEW which can display and analysis uploaded data. Finally, studies and improves leakage location method to improve the accuracy of location to ensure repairs timely.The system designed in this paper can monitor and control the operation of gas pipes. In the experiment, the system is stable and reliable.
