According to the requirement of EPDM localization, polymerization reaction was carried on using ethylene and propylene as main material, ENB as third monomer, hexane as solvent and hydrogen as molecular weight regulator, modified vanadylic chloride sequiethyl aluminium chloride as catalyst system. The influence of catalyst system, catalyst and its quantity, molecular weight regulator quantity, the ratio of n(Al)/n(V), the ratio of monomer, reaction pressure, temperature and time on polymer reaction are researched. Polymerization process condition of goal product was confirmed by experiment. Commissioning project to product high-grade automobile seal strip at 20kt/a industrialized EPDM plant was proposed and carried out. The product quality of EPDM new brand JH-4096 for seal strip were equivalent to the same kind of foreign product DSM4903. It is complete to use this product as automobile seal strip.
