The technology of anaerobic biological treatment is adopted to handle organic wastewater which's concentration is high. As the technology can save energy and generate energy and accords with the principles of sustainable development in approach of wastewater treatment. And the development and application of anaerobic reactor which is highly active is the key factor. However, the onefold anaerobic technology can not reach the effluent standard of waste water. Therefore, ehe AAOBR reactor of one-piece is designed based on the theory of anaerobism ABR and biological oxidation technics. In the paper the AAOBR reactor is tested by the starting characteristic of solving the slaughterhouse wastewater, removal efficiency of COD and SS, hydraulic characteristics and so on. Some conclusions can be gotten from the experiment as follows:Aerobic sludge is inoculated in the AAOBR reactor and it can be divided into four stages as adaptive period, incubation period, incensement period and stabilization period. After three months, the launch is succeed and treatment effect is preferable. From experiment contrast of two different flow we can know: removal rate of COD is 96.3% in the low discharge and removal rate of SS is 90%in the ABR segment; and removal rate of COD is 93.8% in the high discharge and removal rate of ss is 80.6% in the ABR segment. The removal rules of COD, SS of slaughterhouse wastewater treatment in the AAOBR reactor. So the results indicate that the AAOBR reactor has a high resistance to impact load.Hydraulic characteristics of ABR period has been researched by the methods of residence time distribution, and it indicates that dead area of reactor is 21% due to the existence of biological dead area in the sludge conditions when the HRT is 20h.
