Wood based panel includes plywood panel, particle board, fiber board. There are hundreds of its extension products and deep processing products. Domestic 8 feet sanding machine and more wider, especial calibrate sanding machine, there are visible chatter marks on the surface of panel after sanding in using. It will influences subsequent processing result. So it's very meaningful to grasp wide belt sanding machine core technology and improve the quality of wood-base panel industry.In this thesis, according to cause of chatter marks, we have analyzed the structure of contact roller unit core of the machine; established the finite element model of unit in ANSYS software, analyzed the relationship of stiffness with span and wall thickness; analyzed the static and dynamic characteristic of the roller. We got the curvilinear relationship between stiffness of the roller and natural frequency and influence factors. It provides important theoretical support for design and production.The results showed that: (1) By choosing span, the roller can get maxim stiffness when processing different wide work piece. (2) The stiffness can be much higher by increase wall thickness, but it isn't always significant. It's very effective for reducing waste and cost. (3) Support stiffness in a certain range is great influence of critical speed of contact roller. By adjusting support stiffness, the roller unit critical speed can be changed.Finally using the study results, the roller reaches anticipated goals, Vibration velocity is low, and chatter marks of the panel is great ease after processing.
