The sanding machine is to achieve the calibration and polishing of wood based panel.The high competition in wood-based-panel industry in China drives the machinery manufacturers to find chances in international markets.The wide-belt sanding machine shall take the initiative to compete in international market even though the quality needs further improvement.This article makes analysis on frame structure of wide-belt different types of sanding machine.With reference to the existing design in CAD,it can also apply 3-D analysis software,i.e.Solidworks,ANSYS workbench,to achieve modeling and mechanical analysis for different components in the sanding machine,such as bottom base,sanding roller assembly,swing roller assembly,etc.The results show that the bending distance of the cantilever beam after assembly in different types of sanding machine and get the bending distance of with a range from2.54 mm to 2.86 mm which can be offset by designing bending compensation or weight balancing processing.To get strains and stresses,vertically and horizontally,of different rollers through mechanical analysis and testify whether it satisfies working condition.To get it further,it shows the natural frequency of the first six steps through dynamic study of the vibration system in computer software which is the basic input of choosing the right motor power,make harmonic analysis and calculate the response to certain frequency,formulate the frequency-response curve and testify the reliability.The amplitude is within0.05 mm which can satisfy working condition.By application of ANSYS to optimize the structure design and Workbench to analyze the structure and thickness of the sanding roller,it shows the optimum thickness of calibration roller is 30 mm,the guiding roller design can be changed from solid roller in original design to hollow roller with 20 mm wall thickness.The optimum wall thickness of swing roller is 14 mm.The analysis above upgrades the processing of bottom base of the sanding machine,testifies the performance and precision of sanding roller,reduces the wall thickness ofcalibrating roller without discounting the rigidity and precision,optimizes the structure of guiding roller.All the analysis contributes to the higher performance of sanding roller and improves design efficiency and precision which plays a significant role in upgrading performance of wide-belt sanding machine.
