Phthalocyanines are a multi-purpose material. It has two-dimensional electron 18Ï€conjugated macrocyclic compounds and not only have a high stability to heat and light but also can resistance to the erosion of Acid and alkali, replace different number or tape atoms or groups of atoms on the periphery of phthalocyanine molecules formed asymmetrical phthalocyanine. Compared to traditional symmetric phthalocyanine, asymmetrical phthalocyanine has obvious advantages in structure and nature. For example, asymmetrical phthalocyanine in the organic solvents have a better solubility, has good ability in the formation of LB films and its LB film with a strong second-order nonlinear optical properties of NO2 and other gases have a strong sensitivity, showing a fast response and recovery rate.The first part of this article summarized about two aspects of the asymmetry phthalocyanines. such as statistics condensation, polymer carrier method, sub-phthalocyanine ring expansion, semi laver triazine intermediate routes, cross-concentration method and so on,and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each method and some ideas for improvement. The second is the application of asymmetrical phthalocyanine. This article outlines the asymmetry phthalocyanine because of its unique physical and chemical properties, in the second-order nonlinear optics, gas sensors, near infrared absorption, photodynamic therapy, and other areas of electroluminescent of the applications. The second part of the article explores a new synthesis of asymmetrical phthalocyanine and prepared by the precursor of several compounds.Asymmetric Synthesis of phthalocyanine is still in its infancy, compare to the synthesis method of symmetric phthalocyanine, its also rare, and almost have shortcomings of each method, such as purification separation difficulties, low yield synthesis of target molecules, or the uncertainty and randomness and so on. But I believe that with the new asymmetric synthesis of phthalocyanine and the constant emergence of new synthetic methods, asymmetric phthalocyanine will be even broader applications.
