The Electric arc furnace(EAF) system is a system which is multiparameter,nonlinear, strong coupling, change with time, evil work environment and random disturbance, the control effect of normal PID is not good to the complex and nonlinear control object whose parameter is changed with time, The electrode can not work in stable state by the way of controlled by PID. And it is impossible to work in stable state in quickly. Meanwhile it makes electrode control system waste a lot of electric energy and the efficiency very low.The process of EAF steelmaking is the control objective of input electric power, cost of power consumption and shorting the duration of heating mainly is completed by electrode regulating system. So the control methods of electrode regulating become the primary object of the research of EAF control system.Based on consulting a great deal of documentation at home and abroad. This article analyze electrode control system in detail connect with the electric arc furnace of Bao Ji steel plant, and also prove the whole process of optimize the electrode control system.First the test discussed application of Speed Integral in PID controller, that the system has the resistance to disturbance and fast response is proved by MATLAB simulation. According to the craft trait of EAF, the arc model of AC arc is deduced; Second the thesis gave designing theory,all design thinking.discussed designs of EAF control system and measurement system.Finally,the thesis thoroughly describes the hardware configuration of the computer automatic control system of electric arc furnace. Based on the design of the electrode's position control algorithm, the realization method of control algorithm is proposed. The control software is designed with the programming language S7-200 produced by Siemens Company.This system had been triumphantly put into production on August,2007 after testrun, and it gains favorable economic benefit.
