Recently, wastes recycle and environment protection are the two vital problems concerned by people. Large amount of solid enriching collagen waste produced by leather industry, fishery and aquaculture leads to serious environment pollution and a huge waste of resources. The extraction of collagen from these wastes, its effective utilization and the realization of its high value conversion are among the hot topics for recent research and development. At present, collagen is wildly applied in the beauty treatment, health care, medical care etc., and its positive effect on skin organization is generally accepted. At the same time, researchers are still trying to expand the application scope of collagen. And the textile industry is a new brand of application for collagen .In this thesis, the modification of cotton fabric with collagen by the method of finishing in order to obtain excellent textile performance in skin-intimacy, nourish and antianaphylaxis, was mainly investigated. Meanwhile, the improvement of fabric rough surface , unsatisfying moisture wicking property and the transferring rate for the sweat to evoperate to the fabric appearance after absorbing sweat were studied. In order to solve the problem of washing fastness, a method of using chemical crosslinking agents to provide chemical bonds between collagen and cotton fabrics was adopted in this study. The effect of crosslinking agents such as glyoxal, glutaraldehyde and polyisocyanates(PAPI)were systematacially investigated in this thesis. The collagen /cotton was characterized by fourier transform infrared(FTIR) and Differential Scanning Caborimetry(DSC)to confirm that the aldehydes crosslinking agent mainly generate hemiacetal or acetal when the cotton fiber is cross linked with collagen. The results show that collagen was effectively cross linked on the surface of cotton fiber by these crosslinking agents. The results also show that for collagen /cotton system, the cross-linking effect of PAPI is much better than aldehyde crosslinking agent, and the comprehensive effect of glutaraldehyde is better than glyoxal among aldehyde crosslinking agents,.the hygroscopic and expansion of cotton fiber of Modified cotton fiber is significantly improved. As the fiber gap is increased and the surface of fiber with collagen membrane is smooth, the water transfer resistance is reduced, As a result of water transferring acceleration, a fast drying performance of fiber was obtained. The best condition of PAPI crosslinking system is as follow, crosslinking agent 1% (V/V), collagen content 0.9% (o.m.f.), reaction temperature 165℃, reaction time 40 s. Under this condition, after10 times washing,The modified cotton fabric still possessed a collagen content of 5.326% of the total weight and a collagen retention rate of 92.3%. Moreover, for the fiber, the moisture vapor transmission rate was 10191.519 g/m2 24 h, evaporation rate was 0.19 g/h, bibulous rate is 304.92%, 35% humidity in 8 h moisturizing rate was 3.2%, the ventilation rate was 307.0 mm/s.In this study, the fiber with great moisture absorption and fast drying ventilation effect was obtained, The moisture absorption and fast drying fabrics performance of the fiber meet the national standard requirement. Meanwhile the mechanical properties of the fiber keep good.
