With the pipeline transport becomes a new and great development potentials transporting approach, in recent years it develops rapidly, and has now be one of the five major transportations. It follows that the problem of secure operation of the pipeline transport has been gradually paid attention of all circles of the society. In case that pipelines leak, it could result in chain reaction, such as energy waste, huge pecuniary loss and environmental damage. So pipeline leak detection and location have been an important research task. This paper mainly discusses the accurate locating approaches of pipeline leak in complex conditions; two modified approaches are introduced. And develop software for pipeline leakage based on Qt. The major research work as follow:1. Discuss the principle and the application in pipeline leak location of correlation calculating method. Based on the existing fixed correlation calculating method of fixed size, extracts appropriate span signals from a fixed size upstream and downstream signals by adequate steps for correlation calculating, takes the displacement with the maximal correlation coefficient as time difference of leak signals to overcome inaccurate locating problem caused by interference signals.2. Correct the pipeline leak locating model, and study the distribution of temperature, speed of sound, flow rate of transmission along the pipeline. On this basis, gain the curves of time difference between upstream and downstream leak signals in theory.3. Propose a leak locating approach based on Generalized Regression Neural Network (GRNN). Taking the time difference in theory as input, taking the corresponding locations of pipeline as output, establish the model based on Generalized Regression Neural Network (GRNN), combining with the time difference of leak signals acquired online, accurate leak location can be implemented. Actual application shows accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed approaches, which enable reliably solving the leak locating problems.4. Develop leak detecting software for practical long distance pipelines. This software system is easy to use, and has a friendly interface, at the same time it is not limited by different operation systems. So it is of better advantages of striding platform and extensibility.
