Chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM) is an excellent and widely used special rubber. Although our country's CSM production is the first three in the world, but the overall level of production technology has a large gap with foreign countries, especially for the lack of high-performance CSM product. This paper compares the differences structure and properties between domestic and foreign CSM, and to improve the performance of the domestic CSM products. In this paper, the molecular structure and properties differences between domestic and foreign CSM by Fourier transform infrared instrument (FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and other methods. We found that foreign Hypalon40's chlorine atoms in the molecular chain of distribution are more uniform, leading to its glass transition temperature and crystallinity is relatively low, compared with the domestic CSM, ang its tensile property, thermal stability and cold resistance are more excellent. Therefore, by using the powerful ultrasonic "cavitation effect", The compound J grafted micro-compound K and the CSM grafted nano-compound K were prepared by grafting chlorosulfonated polyethylene onto compound K surface. FT-IR, UV-visible spectra(UV-Vis), 1H NMR and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) results confirmed that the compound J molecular successfully grafted onto the surface of compound K, while the XPS results supported that the compound J also participated in the radical reaction with groups. TGA results concluded that 4.68 wt% of compound J was grafted onto the surface of compound K nanoparticles. TEM and BET results showed that grafted compound K particle size was significantly reduced and its some surface is covered by CSM. Then, the CSM/grafted compound K composites were prepared by the HAAKE torque rheometer. The contact angle experimental results showed that the interfacial interaction between CSM matrix and g-compound K nanoparticles was enhanced, so the g-compound K nanoparticles were easy to be dispersed into CSM matrix. CSM/grafted nano-compound K composites' tensile property, thermal stability, high damping property and processing performance had been improved to some extent. This has an important significance to improve the performance of domestic CSM.
