The data of tray pressure drop, entrainment, leakage and other hydrodynamics of the B-type directed fixed valve tray had measured by using the air-water system in a rectangular tower(1500mm×450mm). Then efficiency of the mass transfer were gained by using the air-water-CO2 system in the tower. Experimental results showed that the B-type directed fixed valve tray had excellent characteristics on the hydrodynamics and mass transfer. It was an innovative tray with good prospects for industrial applications. The hydrodynamic experimental data of the B-type directed fixed valve tray were correlated with Matlab, experiment-based math model calculated tray pressure drop, entrainment. and leak point hole-speed, the method of the plate design calculations of industrial applications was gained.The simulation of the B-type directed fixed valve tray were carried out by using a simulation software--Aspen. Based on simulated data, preliminary design could be worked out. Hydrodynamic data were obtained by experiment-based math model and design parameters. The results of hydrodynamic of the B-type directed fixed valve tray showed that all design points were in the normal operating range and a good process requirements could be achieved.This paper laid a certain foundation for the study and design of the B-type directed fixed valve tray, and provided the reliable basis for the application and popularization of the new plate.
