In order to meet the SO2 emission standard which comes stricter in China, flue gas desulfurization facilities have been applied in power station for regulation, in which 80 percent of such adopt desulfurization by wet process. However, the quality of most coal exploitation and utilization is declining, and preventing the desulfurization facilities from reaching the planned aim. Upgrading facilities shall be of high cost, so adding proper desulfurization synergist to increase efficiency must be one of the most available choices.The research in domestic and abroad markets show, in desulfurization by wet process, adding of proper desulfurization synergist shall obviously improve chemical action and mass transfer, boost CaCO3 solvent, mitigate PH value of serum decline problem and improve SO2 solvent and absorption. Moreover, it can decrease water steam sub-pressure and evaporation rate, and prolong desulfurization efficiency period. In brief, desulfurization synergist can improve desulfurization efficiency and utilization, and further decrease operation cost. Moreover, it can also slow down calcium deposit and block rate, thus the system reliability can be improved.With the help of desulfurization facilities of China Hua Dian Corporation, meanwhile limestone was used as desulfurization calcium basis and various kinds of coal were applied for tests. Desulfurization synergist combination properties were investigated in detail, and costs of direct and indirect economic profit were analyzed. Tests showed that it can improve desulfurization efficiency and save power consumption rate. In the meantime, the important index of pH value, Cl-, moisture content, CaSO4?2H2O,CaSO3?1/2H2O and CaCO3 made no change.
