Quaternary ammonium cationic surfactants have excellent antibacterial and bactericidal properties, they are used in the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics, textile industry, and other fields in-depth. Quaternary ammonium salts can make organic solvents to form gels, these gels have good stability and reversibility, and have a broad application prospects in producing sensitive gels, nano-materials, drug delivery, battery electrolytes and other fields.However, most quaternary ammonium cationic surfactants'raw materials come from fossil fuels. Their production process has high energy consumption and heavy pollution. Furfural, as an abundant renewable material, becomes an important chemical raw material gradually, not only has great value, but also reduces oil consumption and the impact on the environment.In this subject, we use furfural as a raw material to synthesis two kinds of furan-containing ammonium cationic surfactants, N-methyl-N-Butyl-N-dodecyl-2-furfuryl ammonium iodide and N,N-double dodecyl-N-Butyl-2-furfuryl ammonium bromide. Then examine the factors which affect the synthesis of products and study the surface properties of them. Use N,N-double dodecyl-N-Butyl-2-furfuryl ammonium bromide as gelator to prepare gels, and study the properties of gels.The results show that, the cmc andγcmc of N-methyl-N-Butyl-N-dodecyl-2-furfuryl ammonium iodide are 0.0002mol/L and 33.93mN/m, the cmc andγcmc of N,N-double dodecyl-N-Butyl-2-furfuryl ammonium bromide are 0.000012mol/L and 35.25mN/m. Two surfactants can reduce the surface tension of water well. When Increase the number of dodecyl, it also increase the number of carbon atoms, cmc decreased.N,N-double dodecyl-N-Butyl-2-furfuryl ammonium bromide can make butyl acetate and ethyl acetate to form transparent white gels, which are unstable at room temperature. Their CGC are 10wt.% and 15wt.%. N,N-double dodecyl-N-Butyl-2-furfuryl ammonium bromide makes 3 - methoxy-propionitrile form a transparent stable gel. Its CGC and TSG are 5wt.% and 58℃. |
