With the increasing social demand, the total amount of carbon dioxide emissions from electric power companies is also rising in recent years. Many power plants have installed desufurization equipment. Many of them apply limestone - gypsum wet FGD. Most of the wet gas desulfurization are set to have gas heat exchanger (GGH). In actual operation, some problems are commonly found in GGH.GGH Choke is one of the most common problem. GGH Choke can cause increasing pressure, and even lead to boiler tripping, which influence the economic, the environment and the security of the generating unit.This thesis analyzes the reasons of GGH Choke through the design of the system of the generating unit, the effect of blowing from the GGH, GGH heat transfer components, testing of coal into the furnace, mist fogging effect, absorber slurry bubble concentration, flue gas dust concentration and other factors.Based on the reasons, this thesis expounds the retrofit of the GGH and studies optimization of the GGH operation. Due to the retrofit of the GGH and the optimization of the GGH operation, the environment to the GGH operation achieves great improvement, GGH fouling and Choke are well controlled and the suspension of the Desulfurization system is greatly improved.
