Traditional oil-based coatings contain a great deal of volatile organic solvents that cause great harm to the environment and people's health. This paper aims to produce a safe and environmentally friendly water-based acrylic anti-corrosion coating.Due to acrylic emulsion's disadvantages of poor water resistance and high transmittal of oxygen and water, a number of ions in the coating form corrosion current. In this paper, an organic siloxane with better reactivity and excellent water-resistance, A-174, is chosen to modify the acrylic with method of semi-continuous emulsion polymerization. To reduce the residual emulsion ionics, reactive emulsifier DNS-86 is adopted. Functional monomer phosphate is adopted to enhance adhesion and corrosion resistance. The results show that delay dropping method of silicone could prohibit the hydrolysis and condensation reaction of silicone. With the increase of silicone, latex film water-resistance was significantly improved, confirming that silicone-modified acrylic acid copolymer has better water resistance. Through the test and study of monomer conversion rate and stability and water-absorption, the result show that reactive surfactant DNS-86 prepared the acrylic emulsion has better water resistance and stability of Ca2+. When the proportion of A-174/A-151 is 2 to 1, the dosage of siloxane is 4% and reactive emulsifier DNS-86 is 2%, the modified resin has good water resistance, the water absorption is 3.3%, which is lower than the normal resin's 5% to 20% water resistance and has an overall performance. This paper studies water-borne anti-corrosion coating formulation through analysis of the raw materials and selects the appropriate anti-corrosion paint, filler, water-based additives such as dispersants, wetting agents, deformers, etc. and studies the amount of the additives on the performance of the coating's production, storage, painting and the film performance, finally determining the PVC is 50%, the proportion of ZnO/Zn3(PO4)2ยท2H2O is 1/2. Compared to commercially available water-based anti-corrosion coatings, this coating's adhesion and water-resistance are improved and have good overall performance, which should satisfy light and medium anti-corrosion performance requirements.
