Mould is a kind of indispensable product which can be broad applied in various fields in our country. The quality of the mould is depended on the roughness of the mould. More than 60 percent of the mould cavity is made up of curved surface in mould industry. Polishing curved surface mould is primarily manual with high labor intensity, low production efficiency and unstable polishing quality, and can not be taken the place of polishing by machine.In order to improve the low production efficiency in mould polishing, a method, which is based on introducing a deflector module that can alter the flow field into the hydrodynamic suspension machining, is proposed in this paper. The dynamic model of hydrodynamic sus-pension machining with deflector which was based on the theory of hydrodynamic pressure, boundary layer theory and realizable k-εturbulent model was established. The main work of this paper is shown as follows:1. Referring to some relative journal articles, some current research status of suspension machining include the elastic emission machining should be learnt. The idea of suspension machining with deflector will be proposed at last.2. The principle of material removal has been deeply investigated. Based on the Preston equation and simulation technology of finite element analysis, the various results of velocity and pressure have been analyzed in all kinds of situation. The amount of material removal and machining effect can be anticipated by the theory research.3. The polishing system is established and the detecting system of hydrodynamic pres-sure should be improved by finite element analysis simulation. The power interference should be eliminated. To figure out the trouble of moving in micrometer, a platform which can move in micrometer should be established. As for the deflector module, should be designed with manual control. To solve the problem that the suspension has harmful foam, a kind of suspen-sion without harmful foam should be confected and the effective impact rate can be improved.4. Suspension machining experiment should be performed to calibrate the amplification coefficient of hydrodynamic pressure and to define the appropriate position of deflector mod-ule. A comparative experiment should be conducted between traditional suspension machin- ing and suspension machining with deflector. It also can be testify whether the result con-cluded by FEA simulation is right or not. Besides the procession of deflector experiment should be programmed and get the result which affected by the different deflector module po-sition.
