As the important equipment in industrial production, mould has broad application. Polishing is an significant part in the mould production, and the improvement of the roughness in the workpiece surface is helpful for increasing the quality and lifetime. The total production of mold of China had been the third highest in the world, while the design and manufacture technology fall behind the US and Germany, polishing of mould cavity is still manual, thus the productivity is low and difficult to ensure the quality. According to the elastic emission theory and principles of dynamic pressure, this thesis puts forward a technique of mould cavity manufacture based on polishing tool with grooves, The main work of this dissertation is shown as follows:1. Establish the mathematical model in the machining zone, analysis the distribution of hydrodynamic pressure and the influence of hydrodynamic pressure distribution caused by the grooves on the polishing tool, then reveals the mechanism of removal based on the theory of abrasive impact the rough peak.2. Using the CFD simulate the fluid between the polishing tool and the workpiece, analysis the distribution of hydrodynamic slurry pressure and fluid velocity, and the unsteady characteristics caused by interaction between the grooved polishing tool and the workpiece.3. Based on the mould steel of Cr12MOV, a large number of exploratory experiments has been conducted. Considered the results of the experiments, the hydrodynamic slurry pressure and final roughness are influenced by the width, depth and density of the groove4. Design and manufacture the grooved polishing tools which were used in Hydrodynamic Suspension Polishing, and set up a fixture system used to control the distance between the polishing tool and the workpiece. Analysis the principle and method of detecting the dynamic pressure during the process to improve the controllability. There are certain theoretical guidance and technical reference value for promoting the development of mould cavity polishing and enrich the theory of Hydrodynamic Suspension Polishing.
