Household electric car is the synthesis of a variety of techniques to study the appearance of the electric car design, to give electric car "from the inside out" high quality to meet the functional premise. Continuously improve the quality of its appearance and pleasant, enhanced the effect of the added value of products with the overall shape to meet the needs of market competition, has become a pressing issue of the electric car industry.To meet customer demand, keeping up with market trends. Through the use of reverse engineering to assist the research and development of new and special products. Such as household electric car trunk samples restored into products through reverse engineering. Reverse engineering as household electric car trunk developed an important method to improve the design accuracy and shorten the model, mold design and manufacturing cycle, to obtain a higher quality.In this paper, the key technology of reverse engineering data acquisition, data preprocessing, data analysis, the CAD model construction, rapid prototyping, mold design and manufacturing to discuss research, and plastic parts of trunk model reconstruction based on reverse engineering technology and analysis, mold design and manufacturing.According to the characteristics of household electric car trunk plastic products, the use of reverse engineering plastic parts model reconstruction, that is, a coordinate measuring machine to complete the data collection for household electric car trunk;the advantages of using Imageware software to process data to complete data processing work; to use UG6.0 software to complete the creation of the model of household electric car trunk and rapid prototyping, mold design and manufacture in accordance with its CAD model, complete assembly and test mode, and the target product.Studies have shown that using reverse engineering technology to complete household electric car trunk, data acquisition and analysis, model reconstruction and analysis, mold design and manufacturing, can get higher quality products, improve the efficiency of design and development.
