Radon is listed as one of the recognized19kinds of carcinogenic substances bythe World Health Organization and it closely related to human health. Mapping ofregional radon levels can be directly to express radon concentration and degree ofradon potential harm in a certain area, it can provide the basic data for carrying outdetailed radon level survey and valuable reference data for reducing radon hazards, aswell to protect human health. Using information technology to achieveinformatization and networking in radon data processing is not only an important partof the radon mapping methods research, but also an inevitable trend of thedevelopment.This paper analyzed and summarized the latest research progress of radonmapping and database system in the domestic and abroad, reference its experiencefully, based on1/500000digital geological map database according to ChinaGeological Survey and regional radon field measurement data, using databasedevelopment technology, GIS technology, network technology, and windowsapplication development technology, research and development the radon mappingdatabase system.The structure of radon mapping database system used client/server mode. Theserver can store radon data and spatial map data, which is based on SQL Serverdatabase software, ArcSDE spatial engine and Geodatabase data model. It providesdata services to the client through the login of registered user; the client program isbased on the Mircosoft.NET platform, using the ArcEngine second developmentcomponents and the C#development language. The program can provide thefunctions of radon data reading, submitting, managing and analyzing to user, it canalso provide the functions of spatial map data opening, displaying, uploading,downloading and managing. This system can offer a practical solution for radonmapping data storage and analysis combined with the spatial map data. By using of radon mapping database system in the radon measurement dataprocessing not only provides the convenience for radon mapping data managementand improves work efficiency, but also provides scientific and objective underlyingdata for monitoring of regional radon levels. At the same time, the application of thesystem also verified the feasibility of database technology, network technology, GIStechnology and the services technology which can use in the field of radon mapping.It achieved sharing of the space map information, avoided the waste of human andeconomic, provided a radon mapping data application foundation platform.The establishment and application of the system will greatly improve themodernization level of radon mapping data management and provide a valuablereference for the methods of radon mapping data processing. It accumulated theimportant experiences for establishing radon mapping method standards in ourcountry.
