As nowadays the majority of domestic badminton strings seem to have poor comprehensive performance and low mechanical strength, while the prices of low-end badminton strings are also constraint, it is necessary to develop one kind of badminton string which have better mechanical strength, better comprehensive performance and lower production cost.Taking the promotion of badminton strings'mechanical strength and comprehensive performance as research purpose, this article analyzes the different raw materials, internal structures, functional characteristics and production technology of badminton strings at home and abroad. Experimental studies are done in three major aspects as string's material selection, internal structures design and coating technology design. The research results are shown as follows:First, this paper chose the advanced high-strength chinlon fiber as the material of badminton strings for twisting and coating test, which displays better mechanical properties, bursting strength, creep resistance, heat aging resistance, heat shrinkage performance than the one using common nylon material.Secondly, it is found that after twisting process, the badminton string's mechanical strength is positively related to the thickness of the string's inner core wire, as the thicker the core wire is, the better mechanical strength will the string have. With the same string structure, the thicker the core wire is, the better resilience and fatigue resistance performance will the string have. Finally, the research shows the coating technology of the badminton strings contributes to the performance of the strings. While the material and structure both affect the mechanical strength of the badminton string, the coating material and coating spread degree affect the performance of the badminton string.
