Large wastewater discharge value and high oxygen demand make straw pulp papermakingwastewater the main pollution sources of industrial wastewater in China. With the stricter of papermakingWastewater Emission Standard, it is imperative to develop advanced technology for straw pulppapermaking wastewater treatment. The AOTs is an valid method to treat papermaking effluent which has an large develop potentialand benign apply prospect. In this paper, straw pulp papermaking wastewater treated by physioehemical-anaerobic-aerobic processes (called biochemical treatment water for short) was studied by Fentonoxidation and Oxone/Co2+oxidation for advanced treatment, respectively. Then we further establishedcost-efficient operating conditions for the potential application of Fenton and Oxone/Co2+oxidation processto treat straw pulp papermaking wastewater. In addition, the organic component before and after Oxone/Co2+oxidation has been discussed, which provide theoretical evidence to the decomposition of papermakingeffluent by AOTs. The experiment results show:1.The treatment of papermaking effluent by Fenton oxidation process:The main parameters(average values) of apermaking effluent samples were:pH=8.02,COD=232mg/L,Suspended Solids(SS)=34mg/L,Color=500,turbidity=28.51.The best operational conditions were the following:[H2O2]=25mmol/L,[H2O2]/[Fe2+]=5,initial pH=2.5,reaction temperature=35±1℃,reaction time=60min.AfterFenton treatment at optimum conditions, the reached COD reduction was58.68%,SS,color and turbidityincreased due to the generation of a large quantity of ferric hydroxide sludge.2.The treatment of papermaking effluent by Oxone/Co2+oxidation process:Take ChemicalOxygen Demand (COD)removal as the main parameter, treatment of papermaking effluent were discussedusing the single factor experiments and orthogonal experiments. The results of Fenton to that ofOxone/Co2+oxidation was compared under different operating conditions. In reference to Oxone/Co2+oxidation,the optimum operational conditions were stated below:[Oxone]=6.0mmol/L,[Oxone]/[Co2+]=100,pH=6.0,reaction temperature=40±l℃,reaction time=90min,the removal of COD,SS,color andturbidity were61.34%,14.71%,89%and70.89%respectively.From this study,it was concluded thatOxone/Co2+oxidation process demonstrated higher degradation efficiencies than Fenton oxidation process. 3.The organic matter composition of papermaking wastewater by biochemical treatment wasanalysed using GC/MS.12kind of matter was tested out. Among them there are6kind of alkane, Olefins, amide, chlorine acid salts was all a,3kind of aromatics. The organic composition analysis result of samplesafter advanced oxidation shows that there are only toluene and butyl hydroxyl toluene two kinds be detect-ed.
