Beam pumping unit is widely used equipment for oil extraction in oil field of China, due to the inherent mechanical properties, the driving motor generally operates with light load conditions and the load characteristics is cyclical and variable, which may lead to the lower operating efficiency, and the energy saving potential is great. Aiming at the problem which is how to adopt the efficient energy saving measures, a series of the experimental studies are carried out in this thesis, the losses and reactive power of the motors with the motor and generator models are systematically studied, as well as, the influences of the voltage deviation and unbanlance voltage on the loss and temperature are also studied. Further, the energy consumption level of the different motors and saving effects of energy-saving technologies of oil filed are compared and analyzed, the main contents are as follows.1. According to the typical load characteristic measured on-site, the experimental schemes are designed, by which the motor and generator operation models can be realized, then the variation law of the stator and rotor copper losses, iron losses and excess losses, with the load torque, are systematically studied and revealed.2. For the common power quality deviation in oil field, the experimental scheme for generating the deviation of the different power quality are designed, and the influences of the voltage deviation and unbanlance voltage on the energy consumption and temperature are also studied.3. Based on the beam pump unit model in lab, the comparison on the energy consumption characteristics of the line-start permanent magnet motors, ultra-high slip motors and asynchronous motors under variable load condtions are performed. Further, with the variable load condtions, the energy-saving effects of the frequency conversion, voltage regulation, reactive power compensation and intermittent energy-saving technologies are also compared and analyzed.
