Parallel hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is widely used as an alternative vehicle between conventional vehicle and pure electric vehicle models. This is a huge challenge in the design of vehicle because of the complexity in structure and system. In this paper, the study of modeling and analysis were carried out about PHEV powertrain. The PHEV powertrain components' selection of match and numerical simulation models were established. The components of Match and selection includes the engine, motor or generator, cell and transmission selection; Component performance simulation models include vehicle model, engine model,motor/generator models, battery and powertrain models. The control strategy model of transmission shifting is developed based on the parameters of engine load and its speed. The motor-aided energy control strategy was established on the trait of engine working at low fuel consumption. The traditional fuel vehicle braking force distribution strategy was analyzed. According to the characteristics of PHEV, the regenerative braking control strategy was investigated including anti-drag on the engine braking based on the bricking strength and the vehicle speed parameters. The regenerative braking model of PHEV was established. The energy management model of the vehicle braking energy recovery is obtained during the simulation process. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) model of design in simulation software was given. The simulating software system was developed in the method of Object-oriented software development with the Visual Studio C# software language and the Access database system. Finally, an example was provided of this software system. It is a new way and method for future research in new energy performance analysis.
