Passenger train plan largely determines the quality of railway passenger transport service levels and operational efficiency. Because of numerous of elements, the programming of train plan is difficult in one step in the actual production. Therefore, it needs to take relevant factors into account gradually, and to be improved iteratively. In this paper, the practical train plan is taken as the object. And based on the elements of train plan, the programming and optimization methods of high-speed railway passenger train plan are studied as the followings:(1) According to the relationship of elements of high-speed railway passenger train plan, this paper analysis on 5 key basic elements, wich are the train origin-destinations and paths, the train types, the train formation and quota, the train frequency and train stops. And according to process of from the potencial lines, to the initial plan and to optimized plan, the basic elements of the different stages are divided into three levels. The paper focuses on analysis the specific content of each element of different levels, and the relationship between the various elements;(2) Based on the programming requirements of the basic elements in different levels, the paper designs the different methods in the processes, involving in seven key technologies, and the two of them, which are initial plan generation method with human-computer interaction, and iterative optimization method, are studied in-depth;(3) In the initial plan generation method with human-computer interaction stage, based on the different requirements of Cross-Line Train Plan and the Line Train Plan, the paper designs different methodology:for the Cross-Line Train Plan, it is the traditional programming method based on the passenger volume; and for the Line Train Plan, it programs the origin-destination plan based on the passenger volume first, and then according to stop modes, it designs potential stop stations set, and uses mathematical model to generate the stop plans;(4) The optimization methods are divided into two levels. First, for the initial cross-line train plan, the method is to regular train stops and to make the train lines periodzation. Then followed by the application of "iteration" idea, according to different evaluation results, the method is to analyze the the elements need to optimize, and to design the optimization direction, optimization methods and iteration termination conditions;(5) Finally, a case is studied to verify the practicality of the methods in the paper.
