With high-power perceptual loads and large-scale power electronic equipments being broadly used in industry, the economic development is rapid. But, at the same time, large amounts of energy is consumed and wasted. More and more people pay close attention to energy crisis and environmental pollution due to commercial run. As the government's policy of saving energy and reducing the cost implemented, every company responds to the call. They begin to find effective solutions for the treatment of their own pollution and waste, including the improvement of power factor and power utilization. Reactive power compensation technology arises at the historic moment. It can solve the problem of low power factor which are common in many factories and reduce power grid pollution and equipment burden.The present situation and development prospects at home and abroad of reactive compensation devices were firstly introduced in the paper. The principle of reactive compensation technology and the key questions were analyzed as well. Then, reactive compensation system based on TMS320F2812 DSP was devised according to user's request.The control system adopted TMS320F2812 DSP as the CPU, which was high-speed and mass storage. The AD73360 was used to take sample precisely in this system. And the ip-iq based on the instantaneous reactive power theory was applied to process samples values, which could make sure the cutting amount. The MOC3083 was put to use in threw cutting circuit which can realize thyristor zero shots cut and avoid to produce current shock.The paper introduces the overall design of main circuit and control circuit, gives a detailed account of the compensation's position, the capacitor of wiring and group and so on, refers to the design of hardware circuit and software program. And the key parts of the system are simulated and verified.
