With rapid development of high grade highway construction, there will be a lot of high embankment engineering. Some sections of the road are located in plain area, along the line are farmlands or towns, so it is difficult to get the earth. In order to occupy less cultivated land, measures must be taken to save the land resources, one of the most effective way is to set retaining wall.In-depth analysis of the existing problems of the traditional retaining wall has been done, this paper proposes a new kind of reinforced retaining wall. The design concept of this new kind of reinforced retaining wall is to reduce the bending moment of the cantilever by pulling cantilever retaining wall in different force level, and to increase the anti-sliding and anti-overturning performance by using prestressed anchor cable to pull the retaining wall.Due to the lack of corresponding calculation method and theory system of this form of retaining wall, making the engineering design and construction lack of scientific theoretical guidance. Therefore, this paper conducts a study by means of numerical simulation combined with model test to reveal the force characteristic of this new retaining walls.Based on the research results, this paper mainly makes the following conclusion:(1)Analyzed several kind of traditional retaining wall from aspects of supporting technology, economical use of land and economic rationality, came up with a new reinforced retaining wall aiming at high embankment highways in plain area.(2)Designed model test. To facilitate the implementation of the test, used the steel plate retaining wall instead of concrete retaining wall according to the similar elastic modulus. Selected sandy soil as the filling material, analyzed different prestressed tension conditions, put forward the function equation between pre-tightening force and the top load.(2)This paper came up with construction scheme for reinforced retaining wall, including subgrade soil compaction method, prestressed anchor drawing process, anchor antisepsis measures and durability guarantee measures.
