With the development of our country’s economic, the investment in infrastructure is becoming larger and larger. Highways, high-speed railway projects under construction and to be constructed is increasing. With the development of economic in various regions, where the plowland is declining and the price of land is increasing, land acquisition and borrow is more and more difficult, which become a problem for the construction of highways, railways. Buliding wall instead of slope is an effective way to save the amount of land area and filling side.Anchored retaining wall is born in the context of national development, which is added anchor to the traditional gravity retaining wall and Cantilever Retaining Wall. Traditional gravity retaining wall depends on their own gravity to maintain stability against sliding and overturning, anchored retaining wall is provided stability by the friction between the bolt and the roadbed, so that the anchored gravity retaining wall has higher stability and higher maximum design height. Which can adapt to the high embankment to reduce the land acquition and borrow. In this paper, in Qinglin highway field trials retaining wall install testing instruments, monitoring the entire process was carried out early from the construction of the road to the end, including basal earth pressure on retaining wall, lateral earth pressure, the bolt axial force, this study focus es on earth pressure changes and distribution with the filling height.Due to the complexity of the field test, model test is carried on indoor, to explore the changes of lateral earth pressure because of the additon of anchor. Soil pressure and its distribution will be compared from the result of field test.Finite element software is used to calculate the field trials and model test, with the result of the calculation, analysis the soil pressure from the field trials and model test.To compare and analysis the result from field test, model test, numerical simulation, the earth pressure distribution law is concluded, then the resulting data can be used to fit formula, the earth pressure distribution formula of anchored retaining wall can be got.Because of the special structure of anchored wall, in theory it will be more stable and it has a higher maximum design height. With the purpose to save land, anchored retaining wall has more room for promotion, but it is a new kind of wall, traditional earth pressure theory is no longer fit for the design of it. The distribution formula we get from the paper can provide the theoretical design basis, it will be promote the anchored gravity retaining wall in engineering.
