The railway crane plays a crucial role in the railway rescue. It can arrive at the spot quickly, solve dangerous problems rapidly, achieving the goal of rescue promptly. Design of the railway crane varies from thousands tonnage to tens of thousands tonnage, a very rapid increase. In this increasing economic environment, developing a new crane with much higher hoisting capacity is one of the most new topics at present.The rotary table is one of the important components of the crane. It stands on the slewing bearing, taking jibs and Hydraulic cylinders. Cogging block lies at the back of the rotary table. For railway cranes recently developed, two principles exist:one rotary table and two. In early stage, one rotary table was common. In these recent years, to achieve hoisting commodities along the track in-30 degrees, two tables began to come out, developed by German scientists. But there are some disadvantages for this form, more room needed and limited by height of the contact line. So this form does not adapt to higher tonnage. Developing a new form, which not only can also achieve this function of hoisting commodities along the track, is a very tough task ahead of structure designers.Based on the design principles of the platform, a new form has been proposed, and a new structure has been developed, verification has been done to check its usability.This thesis mainly discusses the following objects.Chapter 1. Introduction. It mainly introduces the present research situation, how to do reliability research and process.Chapter 2. Design of structure of the platform. According to predecessors'research, one form of platform has been developed. Based on the results of stress and strain analysis of various work conditions by using FEA, whether this structure meets our requirements or not has been assured.Chapter 3. Robust reliability analysis. The principles and computing method in reliability field has been introduced. And based on this theory, robust reliability has been discussed.Chapter 4. Reliability analysis of the rotary table structure. The objective is the platform structure. Methods usually used in reliability analysis, like surface response method, were used to analyze the structure.Chapter 5. Robust reliability analysis of the rotary table structure. Based on principles of robust reliability, the sensitivity of objective function to design variables has been added to constraint conditions to optimize the structure in existence.Above all, based on robust reliability of the rotary table structure in railway crane, not only can we get the structure that meets stress and strain limitations, but also avoid large undulation resulted from changes in design variables, meeting the safety and economic efficiency requirements in full measure.
