Increasing social development needs the transport capacity of railway more and more. Improving the train speed is an effective way to enhance railway transportation capacity. With the rapid development of high-speed railway in recent years, China has become a world leader in high-speed rail design, development and manufacturing, and creates the world train speed record again and again. Rapid development of electrified railway requires traction power supply equipment with higher safety and reliability.As an important part of traction power supply system,capacitive equipment is charged with the power transmission and distribution. The normal operation of capacitive equipment is the basis of traction power supply system. At present, railway operation department uses preventive test and regular overhauling to ensure the safe operation of electrical equipment. This method has some shortcomings,such as preventive testing can not accurately reflect the running state of electrical equipment, the cost of regular maintenance in order to discover the existence of the equipment failure is not necessary sometime.Therefore, to accurately reflect the running state of electrical equipment, detect hidden faults and improve economic efficiency, electrical equipment must be online monitoring, especially for the capacitive equipment.Based on the study of structure of existing online monitoring system, a distributed online monitoring system of capacitive equipment of traction substation is degsined.This system consists of monitor layer, control layer and management layer. Because the integrated measurement is used and there is no long distance transmission of analog signals,the distributed system has little measurement error.Hardware of intelligent processing unit is designed in this paper. For the complex working environment, anti-interference and protection scheme are proposed. In addition, software of processing centers in station and workstations in depot is developed based on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 using C# language. The software consists of three layers, there are data access layer, business logic layer and user show layer. LINQ, XML and other technologies are used to make the software have clear layers and strong expandability. The distributed online monitoring system of capacitive equipment of traction substation put in use in Qiananbei substation has a reliable working condition, can meet the application requirements.
